Keep safe
Our easy read safeguarding policy
Our commitment to safeguarding
Everyone we support should feel safe and comfortable. People have a right to live free from mistreatment, to be supported by caring, competent support teams and to feel secure in their homes and communities.
What do we do to keep people safe?
The safety of people we support is our highest priority. Below are some examples of what we do to keep people safe:
-
All SeeAbility employees receive safeguarding training which includes:
-
how to prevent, recognise and stop the risks and experience of abuse or neglect
-
what they need to do if they are worried a person is experiencing, or at risk of, abuse or neglect
-
Personalised support plans and comprehensive training contribute to the delivery of support that is safe and respectful of people’s privacy and dignity.
-
SeeAbility has clear policies and procedures in place that support employees to fulfil their legal obligations and follow best practice guidelines.
-
Anyone applying to work at SeeAbility is subject to a recruitment process that includes rigorous safety checks.
-
All SeeAbility colleagues and the people we support are able to communicate any concerns anonymously by contacting Safecall, an independent whistleblowing service provider (see details below).
-
We have an independently chaired Safeguarding Panel that meets quarterly whose job is to scrutinise and challenge our safeguarding performance.
