Making events accessible

Learn how to make your events accessible, from online talks to in person conferences.

Training

We can provide you with training on making your events accessible, including:

  • The basics on making events accessible, both online and in person. 2 hour remote training session for up to 10 people.

  • A co-branded SeeAbility document on top tips for making presentations accessible, that you can give to your presenters.

Making event resources accessible

We can work with you to make your documents as accessible as possible, so you can be sure you are reaching your whole audience, as well as ensuring any customers with accessibility needs are not excluded.

We will review your resources and work together to improve them, providing training along the way. As changes may include colours, fonts and language, this piece of work is best suited to an initial review followed by a remote session where we make improvements together that follow your brand guidelines.

We will check for:

  • Plan English language

  • Headings

  • Alternative text

  • Colour contrast

  • Descriptive links

  • Fonts and formatting

  • Tables

  • Video best practice

We will provide guidance on any changes made to the document for future reference. Documents we would make accessible for an event include:

  • PowerPoint presentations

  • Any course or conference materials

  • Posters, flyers and adverts marketing the event

Event attendee journey testing

Ensure your event attendee journeys are accessible and easy to use with our expert testing. This could be the ticket purchasing process, information on your website, email marketing journeys, and more. We would review the process and create a report based on any issues and improvements needed.

Depending on the process, this would be by:

  • An accessibility expert

  • An accessibility expert and someone with a learning disability and/or sight loss
