Conference supports SeeAbility
Over £9,000 has been raised for SeeAbility's Children in Focus Campaign at the annual Optix conference during March. We are absolutely delighted by the generosity and support of Optix software users and industry partners.
Their support will help us to transform eye care for children with disabilities so that no child needlessly loses their sight.
SeeAbility was extremely proud to be named the nominated charity for this fantastic event and our dispensing optician, Ned Saunders, attended along with our Optometry Practice Manager, Tania Omany, who enjoyed the experience:
It was really great to be part of the Optix conference. We spoke to so many friendly faces and the best part was how committed and supportive they all were about what SeeAbility is doing.
Some special speakers
The two-day event featured useful workshops with Optix and fascinating talks from a line-up of speakers which included Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Professor Brian Cox.
Optometrist and SeeAbility Trustee, Gordon Ilett, spoke to delegates about our work to prevent avoidable sight loss in people with disabilities. Attendees of the gala dinner also watched our Children in Focus video, which takes a more in-depth look at our sight testing program in special schools.
