Expanding our support in Oxfordshire
Building on the success of our homes in Banbury and Bicester, where we currently support 12 people, we’re continuing to build relationships in the county, working in partnership with the council to meet people’s needs.
Our support services in Oxfordshire are part of our commitment to the Transforming Care Agenda, enabling people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss to live in their own homes and in their own communities. Many of the people who we support in Oxfordshire find it challenging to share support or accommodation, and so access to specialist Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners is integral to the support we offer.
In December 2019 we expanded our support in the county and welcomed two young people to Kennington (pictured here are Jonnie (left) and Tim (right), moving into their new home). We have been delighted to see them settling in as they build relationships with the team, make new friends, celebrate birthdays with home-made cake and learn practical skills like applying for jobs.
Kelly is the Manager at Kennington and says:
I’m delighted to be part of the Kennington team, I can’t thank everyone enough who is making it such a happy place to be. I am really looking forward to welcoming more people to join our Kennington family.
