Masonic Charitable grant provides £44,608 towards SeeAbility Campaign
The Masonic Charitable Foundation has granted SeeAbility £44,608 towards our unique Children in Focus campaign.
The five-figure sum is to support SeeAbility in transforming eye care for children who attend special schools for the next two years. We will use the grant to part fund Laura Christie's vital role of National Manager for Children and Families. Laura oversees the day-to-day running of our sight testing research programme in a number of special schools. SeeAbility’s ground-breaking research has found that children with learning disabilities are 28 times more likely to have a serious sight problem than other children.
Over the last year, half the children tested had a vision problem and 43% had no history of eye care at all. We have now been able to expand the sight testing programme in special schools in London, Buckinghamshire and Durham.
We are delighted to receive this grant from the Masonic Charitable Foundation that will help us deliver more specialist sight tests in more special schools around the country

Financial support like this enables us to fund important roles that contribute greatly to our Children in Focus Campaign and the work of our charity.
