SeeAbility to be the charity partner for Optix conference

We are delighted to have been chosen as the charity partner for the 2023 Optix conference, running from 13-15 March. Their support will help us to transform eye care access for people with learning disabilities and autism across England. 

The event will be attended by members of our expert eye care team, including Grace McGill – one of our Eye Care Champions with lived experience. Grace says: 

“I’m really excited to be going to the Optix conference! It will be a great opportunity for me to share my experiences of eye care and explain how optometrists and opticians can improve eye care for people with disabilities.” 

SeeAbility will be available at a stand where delegates can find out more about our work, how they can support it, and how to stay in touch.  
Optix has also generously agreed to match any funds raised over the course of the conference.

Save special schools eye care!

Children with high support needs and severe learning disabilities are most likely to have sight problems and yet the evidence shows that they are getting no or inadequate eye care. We're campaigning for NHS England to maintain the NHS Special Schools Eye Care Service and rollout eye care across all special schools.
