Anthropy: A launchpad for change. 2nd-4th November

SeeAbility to join Anthropy event as official accessibility partner

SeeAbility has joined Anthropy, a brand-new event bringing together the nation’s leaders and influencers to help build back from the Covid-19 period, as one of its official accessibility partners. Anthropy will take place across three days from 2-4 November at the renowned Eden Project in Cornwall.

Anthropy founder, John O’Brien MBE, describes the event as a ‘launchpad for change’ that will offer an opportunity for an ecosystem of leaders from all sectors to share thinking in order to create ambitious and progressive solutions to the challenges facing the nation.

O’Brien said: “Anthropy arose out of a recognition of the challenges that the pandemic presented both economically and socially, and the need to move past our traditional fault lines and silos to embrace inclusive longer-term thinking to create a new vision for Britain.

“We are so thrilled to have SeeAbility on board as an accessibility partner. As the UK’s largest ever crowd-sourced agenda, we rely heavily on the generosity of organisations like SeeAbility, and the event just would not be possible without them.”

SeeAbility will be contributing to the theme of ‘Our Equity of Opportunity’ - supporting disadvantaged people to realise their full potential in society and focusing on opportunities surrounding employment, market potential and civil society engagement. Other organisations contributing insights to the theme include Caretech, The DFN Foundation and St.Neots. The theme will aim to foster new ideas and potential for partnership activity.

Lisa Hopkins, SeeAbility’s Chief Executive will be speaking at Anthropy. She said:

“I’m delighted to represent SeeAbility at Anthropy: a Launchpad for Change. It’s an important gathering of 1,000 leaders, which will galvanise diverse perspectives on things we collectively care about. It will ensure people with disabilities are active in the conversation on long lasting change.”

Chairing a panel will be Shani Dhanda, award-winning disability specialist and listed as one of the UK's most influential disabled people. With fellow panelists she will discuss ‘Accessibility, Diversity and Inclusion – Britain’s Strengths and Leadership’.

Anthropy will cover a range of issues from sustainability, education, health, and the built and natural environment, to the arts, sport, media and technology. 1,000 executives, policymakers and thought leaders will address the four fundamental questions shaping the future of Britain:

  • What is the quality of life we wish to see in Britain over the next thirty years?
  • What qualities of place and planet do we need to achieve this quality of life?
  • What qualities do we wish to see in a good economy and in the best of businesses?
  • What qualities do we want to express to the world, to help solve shared issues?

Dozens of luminaries from a wide cross-section of British business, academia and civil society are contributing to the event’s expansive agenda, including:

  • Sir Tim Smit, Founder, Eden Project
  • Ben Page, Global CEO, IPSOS
  • Lord Bilimoria, Founder, Cobra Beer
